"I had a Cuisinart Belgian waffle maker I loved. I sent it to one of the kids in college, not thinking it would be a problem to replace it. The model had changed and Cuisinart no longer stored in the upright position and it's art deco look doesn't appeal to me. I was intrigued by the All-Clad waffle iron which costs twice as much and almost bought it before seeing the Calphalon. The multi textured finish and design of the Calphalon waffler is both esthetic and functional. It has a wide, stay cool handle that wraps the waffle iron giving it a streamlined look. The handle locks for upright storage and the cord fits neatly into a retainer on the bottom. The gold tinged non stick interior performs flawlessly, making large waffles with deep impressions that hold lots of syrup and butter. The waffle iron heats in record time and the speed of cooking is equally fast. The graphics behind the dial let you know how far from ready the waffle is, not unlike a speedometer. The iron gently beeps when the waffle is done. I am a fan of Marion Cunningham's Yeast Waffles, but it makes Krusteaz from a mix just as easily. Our family was so impressed, I sent a new Calphalon waffle iron to the other two kids. An amazing machine, perfect for a large family because it cooks so quickly with no waiting for the iron to reheat before the next waffle. Just Do It!"

We love this waffle iron! Every time I use it the waffles come out just the same. Once I mixed by batter really thin, but the machine was still able to turn out appropriately cooked waffles! It cleans easily - I just wipe it down with a damp rag. I am able to make several large waffles and put them in the freezer for the future. You do have to spread the batter into the corners, but it tells you that in the instructions.

I recently started looking at wafflemakers because I wanted to make some of the nutritious waffle recipes I've had for years but didn't have a good waffle maker. It was time-consuming and very frustrating. I finally decided that the Calphalon No-Peek was what I wanted but figured I'd have to wait a while because it really wasn't in my budget. Oh, well, I thought. But my sweet 11-year-old daughter saw me looking at different websites and heard me talking about the reviews I had read and decided that she was going to buy it for me for Christmas with her baby-sitting money. Long story short, she and her grandma went together (only because I didn't want my daughter to blow her Christmas budget) to make my Christmas day very happy. My wafflemaker is amazing. I love how the first waffle came right off with no shortening whatsoever, and how it heats quickly and finishes even dense waffles quickly. It looks sophisticated and is everything it was promised to be. I plan to use it a lot in the future. Thanks, Calphalon!!!
